The jury for the Piranesi Award met on 24 November 2007 in the premises of Mestna galerija. Members of the jury: Anna Popelka, Albert Ferre, Ivan Kroupa, Stephen Bates, Sami Rinalta, Mauro Galantino. Piranesi Award 2007 Njirić+Arhitekti kindergarten Sunce-Retkovec, Zagreb, Croatia The matt concept works well with interconnected spaces – internal + external. The linear structure of the children's street together with open courtyards created a rich tapestry of spaces and experiences.
Piranesi honourable mention 2007 Schneider & Lengauer Haus de Calce, social centre, Kals Austria There is an interesting attempt towards an urban strategy with an everyday, neutal atmosphere. Lea Pelivan and Toma Plejić The gymnasium, Koprivnica, Croatia The connections (visual and atmospheric) that the project makes with the different programmes are very strong. As unitary volume it becomes a powerful piece in the landscape, dynamically interacting with the running track. The overall atmosphere is at the same time urban and energetic.
